Welcome to an informative new blog that will provide you with nearly everything you could ever want to know about homicides and other violent incidents that have occurred in the Southwestern region of the Land of Enchantment, also known as New Mexico.

As a long-time fan of true crime novels, as well as the hundreds of Dateline and 48 Hours episodes I have devoured over the decades, I am hoping to provide an accurate and entertaining discussion on the murderous events that have occurred in my little corner of the planet.

Given that I wrote my Master’s Thesis on much this same subject some thirty-plus years ago, some of you may wonder why I have not previously ventured into the blogosphere to share my extensive research and knowledge on these atrocities. In reality, most of my time during those years was spent working and supporting my five children, and ultimately welcoming seven grandsons into the world.

It took the brutal and heartless murder of my fourteen-year-old grandson just over a year ago to finally spur me into action. My goal is to share not only the story of the devastating loss of this grandchild who I dearly loved, but also the accounts of the many others who have lost their lives to violence here in the deserts and mountains of Southwestern New Mexico.

So please join me as I once again explore these violent crimes, both past and present. I can assure you that I will provide abundant evidence that the so-called Wild West of myth and legend was not only very real, but still exists to this very day.
